A particularly nice day in Luz

Several things have come together to make it one of the nicer days in Luz for some weeks.

I do not wish to bore you with a long list, so can I simply shorten the tale to the best one so far?

At 08.30 our granddaughter went into her driving test.  At 09.15 she was on the phone, absolutely screaming.  She passed!

If we have got Portuguese law correct, there is a snag.  She is not permitted to drive out here until 6 months after she passed her test.  That sounds extremely counter-intuitive, but we live in Portugal where counter-intuitive seems to be the name of the game.

Moving forward, she is flying back to Portugal on Sunday, along with another branch of our family.  Events are moving on quite rapidly.

What our granddaughter does not realise is she has become the latest taxi driver.  There are children to be dropped off and picked up from school.  Simple trips to the supermarket.  Dates and local events.

I am putting 08/10/2016 in my diary.  She will be legal to drive in Portugal then.  It’s time for her to start ferrying me around.
