Tomorrow, 2 June 14, if the rumours are true, Luz is to be probed in the search for Madeleine McCann.
And if the media reports are correct, this will disrupt 3 of the 4 busiest locations in Luz – the main beach, the ‘High Street’ aka Rua Direita, and ground adjoining the main artery into Luz, Rua Primeira do Maio.
Apart from the disruption, this will create a media circus once more and what will it achieve?
Most importantly, it will not find a body. Not even an idiot disposes of a body in the very busiest of locations in Luz, and if you follow this blog, you will find out exactly why these locations are busy 24×7.
I would imagine it will stress the McCanns, on the basis that the team will be searching for a body, rather than a live child.
It will cost the UK taxpayers a vast sum of money, an expense that could have been avoided very easily.
It will diminish the goodwill of the Portuguese police, an organisation that is already stretched and upset over austerity measures imposed in Portugal. Luz calling Andy! You NEED the goodwill of the Portuguese police to make progress with this case. A lot depends on issues ONLY the Portuguese police can investigate, so cheesing them off is NOT smart.
It will diminish the goodwill of the good citizens of Luz. The people who lived in Luz around 3rd May 2007 are essential in aiding the investigation. They have now had 7 years of been put through the mill, and they are now going to suffer again, in one of the least sensible steps in the entire investigation. Luz calling Andy! Follow this blog and you find out why you NEED the goodwill of the long-term residents of Luz.
Anyone on-site, whether a resident or not, can spot in minutes why the 3 search locations are particularly busy, and hence why the chance of a body being located there is zero.
Perhaps next time, the UK authorities will have the sense to consult with the good citizens of Luz to find out in advance whether what they propose is purposeful, or is costly nonsense.
Stick with the blog and you’ll find out why the UK taxpayer should not be paying for this circus.
As is happens, you’ll find out more about Madeleine’s case.
And you’ll also find out why “Luz = Madeleine” is utterly incorrect.
A local property owner has said that, for the first time since Madeleine disappeared, his properties are fully booked in summer, albeit in a season that is only half of what it was in 2007.
So keep with the blog and you find out why Luz is a delight to visit, and why it is family and child friendly and safe.
It is 9:06 on 1st June 2014, and the sun is shining strongly on Luz, Lagos. The sky is cloudless. The temperature is the shade is 24 C. The pool will need a bit of sun on it before it is ready for swimming as it dropped to 20 C overnight.
This is Shining In Luz.
